Scope of the Role + Summary

ACCO Brands, one of the world’s largest suppliers of branded school and office products, with annual revenues of nearly $2 billion, has a challenging opportunity for an Inside Sales Representative supporting our Kensington Canada business.  The Kensington brand delivers consumer technology products for business professionals and technology users and represents a segment of our business with tremendous growth potential.  Our vision at Kensington? Reporting to the Sales Manager, and as part of the Kensington Canada team, the Inside Sales Representative will provide their customer relationship along with in/outbound phone call expertise to channel customers across assigned accounts and act as the main inside point of contact for account buyers, marketing managers, operations/inventory managers and finance managers.  Primary channel focus includes, and is not limited to, DMR, VAR and distribution accounts in Canada.  With marketing and channel support from cross-functional teams in both Canada and the US, this person will own the sales targets by assigned account and plan the business to achieve maximum revenue growth.  Key duties of the role include:


  • Work closely from the inside with the account buyers to build strong business relationships
  • Continued account management of current book of business in addition to winning new customers and/or incremental product placement
  • Present and gain placement of new products and promotions
  • Identify new category opportunities and relay to product management
  • Participate in account marketing activities and industry trade events
  • Use of POS and sales-in data to identify strong performers and problem products
  • Proactively own excess/aged inventory plans and work across the organization to find homes for aged inventory
  • Be the voice of customer and represent the distribution voice and needs to our internal organization.
  • Provide monthly outlook on sales, aged inventory, and POS trends.
  • Ensure accounts payable, contract terms, and other contractual obligations are on point, and aligned internally/externally
  • Responsible for all aspects of account management and distribution including:
  • Sell-in, sell-thru of Kensington productsProgram and allowance management
  • Returns management
  • Product training
  • Reseller breadth development


  • Diploma or degree from a post-secondary institution
  • 2-3 years of sales or channel experience required; relevant industry / competitive experience in similar consumer products highly desirable
  • 15% travel required in Canada and/or USA
  • Able to develop strong product and competitive product knowledge
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, proficient in French highly desirable
  • Strong customer relationship management along with analytical skills required
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Strong customer focus – both internal and external
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment 
  • Self-motivated with high energy, passion for the brand, energetic and dynamic, thrives to win
  • Good Interpersonal, team and networking skills, assertiveness and professional maturity
  • Working knowledge of both B2C and B2B channel
